You
may not be “shocked” to find out that the invisible
electric dog fences are considered by some to be inhumane. However
there are just as many people who swear by these fences and feel as
if the fence is not harmful to their dogs.
The shock provided by most of these fences can be proof to you that
they are not nearly as dangerous or inhumane as some people might
think. For example, if you wanted to see how cruel it is to use a
fence like this on your dog, you can always test it out on yourself.
If you don’t like how the shock feels, or if you think the
shock is too drastic, you can look for a fence with a lower setting,
or consider another alternative. However, most people end up finding
that the shock provided by these fences rarely is any more painful
than the shock you get when shuffling your feet along a carpet floor.
If you look at it from a different perspective, you have to think
that a mild shock is a much better alternative than having your dog
run out in traffic and being hit by a car. As a matter of fact, it
is kind of comparable to having a baby receive his immunizations.
Obviously, nobody want to see a baby stuck with a needle, but when
you think about how this temporary pain can save the child from intense,
long-term pain, you know that it is a good idea to do it.
Invisible electric dog fences may be best described by some as a
necessary evil. Most people who are willing to spend the money to
buy an invisible fence for their dog obviously care enough for their
dog to spend that much money.
Therefore it only stands to reason that these people would not want
to hurt their dogs and instead are merely seeking to do what is best.
